Exploring Science in Action! 🔬
As part of British Science Week, our prep pupils had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Science Museum, where they explored fascinating exhibits and deepened their understanding of the world around them.
Back in school, the whole school put science into practice with hands-on experiments, including:
🌈 Observing colour diffusion with the Skittles Rainbow experiment
💥 Investigating chemical reactions with Mentos and Coke
🧪 Exploring states of matter by making their own slime
🥼Year 6 also led an inspiring whole-school assembly, sharing the stories of groundbreaking scientists from around the world and their contributions to science.

Our Year 3 & 4’s had a wonderful afternoon on their trip to the local library today! The children had so much fun exploring the world of books, taking part in an exciting quiz to learn how to find different titles, and discovering new stories along the way.📖

📚✨ World Book Day: Celebrating the Power of Words! ✨📚
This year, we took a creative twist on World Book Day by dressing up as words— bringing vocabulary to life in the most imaginative way!
From ‘mesmerising’ to ‘camouflage’, ‘nostalgia’ to ‘couture’, our staff and children embraced language in all its glory.
It was incredible to see words like ‘enigmatic’, ‘dilatory,’ ‘glamorous’ and ‘delectable’ come to life through costumes, sparking conversations about their meanings and inspiring a love for language.
A huge well done to everyone who took part— your creativity made the day unforgettable! ✨

Crown House School Book Week! 📚✨
Our children have had an incredible week so far, and we’re not done yet! Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to:
📚Author Visit: Puneet Bhandal inspired us all with a whole-school assembly and engaging classroom workshops.
🗣️EYFS Communication Week: a few of our parents joined us to read in classes, and the children explored storytelling through play-based learning.
📝Live Online Author Events: we’ve seen amazing authors and explored books like ‘Unico’ and learnt more about Guide Dogs & how they’re the new braille hero’s!
🎭Drama & Design: our Year 2’s reenacted their book focus for today ‘Flooded’, imagining what would happen if our school was underwater! They even designed their own wellies for the flood.
And the excitement doesn’t stop here, there’s still more reading, creativity, and fun to come!
