Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
One of the very best features about the Crown House community is its diversity and, as a group, we want to ensure this is celebrated, resulting in an environment where pupils, staff and parents feel that they belong and where everyone can thrive and grow, not despite our differences but because of them!
You will see through everything we do, we are passionate about ensuring individuals from all cultures and nationalities feel as though our schools are safe spaces in which they can celebrate their backgrounds.
It is vital that our pupils, staff and parents feel as though their voices are being listened to and all ideas are welcome in creating a wider voice for diversity, equity and inclusion.
What does Diversity, Equity and Inclusion stand for at Crown House?
DIVERSITY
We recognise, respecting and celebrating each other’s differences. Our diverse environment is one with a wide range of backgrounds and mindsets, which allows for an empowered culture of creativity and innovation.
EQUITY
We seek to ensure fair treatment, equality of opportunity, and fairness in access to information and resources for all. We believe this is only possible in an environment built on respect and dignity.
INCLUSION
We endeavour to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Our ultimate aim at Crown House is for all pupils to leave us well-rounded in the widest sense: their minds will be open; their horizons broad and their hearts welcoming to all citizens around them. They will be fully equipped to live and thrive in a multi-cultural world, where they will model tolerance, inclusion and respect.
‘Pupils gain a clear understanding of the importance of respect for other people, including everyone’s right to be heard.’ ‘The school’s value place high priority on enabling each member of the community to be happy and confident through co-operation and consideration. Pupils understand that such values are designed to enable everyone to lead a happy and safe life. This has a positive influence on pupil’s attitudes which are tolerant and respectful.’
