Pre-Prep

Pre-prep (KS1 – Years 1&2)

During Key Stage 1, we strive to inspire children to aim high and dream big through a vibrant and memorable curriculum that encourages creative learning. Each term, we introduce exciting new topics tailored to our pupils’ interests, empowering them to take the lead in their education. Our small class sizes allow for a carefully constructed timetable, fostering individual attention and collaborative learning among pupils.

At Crown House, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive community where each child is valued for their individuality. High expectations and ambition are seamlessly intertwined with enjoyment. We cultivate a culture of respect and admiration among peers, encouraging them to appreciate their uniqueness while embodying a sense of responsibility towards the world around them.

Our learning across Years 1 and 2, firmly anchored in the National Curriculum, comprises of daily discrete phonics sessions (designed to cultivate confidence and fluency in reading), mathematics, and English lessons. Additionally, weekly topic-based lessons in science, humanities, PSHE, art, RE, computing and creative learning provide vital links to the wider world and we offer specialised instruction in subjects such as outdoor learning, drama, music, French, PE, games and swimming, along with a variety of extracurricular clubs, to further enrich our pupils’ learning experiences.
