Welcome

At Crown House, we recognise the crucial role that Early Year’s education has to play in providing firm foundations upon which the rest of a child’s education journey is successfully based. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and by planning and implementing teaching and learning opportunities that supports them in reaching their full potential we aim for completion of the Early Learning Goals by the end of their time in Reception.

We believe that all children deserve an education rich in wonder and memorable experiences which allow natural creativity and curiosity to flourish, alongside the purposeful acquisition of skills and knowledge. We acknowledge that our children enter the Pre-School and Reception classes with varied life experiences and we  plan teaching and learning opportunities to give children the best chance to become well-rounded, happy individuals, ready to succeed in an ever-changing world.

FROM OUR LATEST INSPECTION

The early years’ provision is excellent. Children make exceptional progress from their starting points due to outstanding teaching. In 2017, almost all children reached a good level of development.

OFSTED MAY 2018

We provide a well-structured, safe, and stimulating active learning environment both indoors and out, following our Crown House Golden Rules where children can work with adults and peers in a climate of mutual respect to develop;

  • Confidence in their ability to learn.
  • The social skills necessary to learn.
  • The emotional capabilities to enable them to understand their feelings and to solve problems.
  • A unique child.

Our children discover the excitement of learning, the rewards of achievement and acquire life skills through the seven areas of learning in the EYFS.

Pastoral Care in EYFS

Our Early Years are characterised by the happiness and success of our younger pupils and enjoys a well-deserved reputation as a school. The pastoral care of the children is of prime importance to us; we want every child to look forward to coming into school and feel safe, happy and excited on their educational journey.

We have a strong family ethos and work together as a team (children, parents and teachers), to ensure that every child has the best possible start.

"I know that as soon as I walk away from the gate I know that my child is being taken excellent care of.."
