Pupil Voice and Leadership

At Crown House, we want children to know that their ideas matter and that they can make a positive difference to their school and the wider world.

Pupil voice is an important part of school life. Through our network of pupil councils, children have opportunities to share ideas, represent their peers, take responsibility and turn their thinking into meaningful action.

Our councils are linked to the six strands of the Crown House Tapestry, allowing pupils themselves to help bring these wider curriculum priorities to life.

The Growth Mindset Council promotes positive attitudes towards learning, encouraging pupils to embrace challenge, persevere and recognise the value of learning from mistakes.

Our Digital Leaders help promote confident, creative and responsible use of technology, supporting their peers to make positive and safe choices in the digital world.

Our Wellbeing Ambassadors champion positive mental health and wellbeing, helping to foster a school culture in which kindness, belonging and looking after ourselves and one another are valued.

The Global Citizenship Council celebrates the diversity of our community and wider world, encouraging pupils to explore different cultures and perspectives and promote empathy, respect and understanding.

The Creativity and Entrepreneurship Council champions imagination, innovation and enterprise, encouraging pupils to develop ideas, solve problems and think creatively about how they might make things better.

Our Sustainability Council helps pupils consider the impact we have on our environment and leads practical initiatives that encourage our school community to make more sustainable choices.

School Council

At the heart of our pupil voice structure is the School Council.

The School Council brings together ideas from across the school and provides pupils with a direct opportunity to contribute to school life and development. Representatives listen to their peers, discuss ideas and priorities and work with staff to consider how positive changes can be made.

Together, our councils ensure that pupil voice at Crown House is more than simply being asked what children think. We want pupils to experience what it means to listen, represent others, take responsibility and turn ideas into action – developing confidence and leadership skills that will serve them well beyond Crown House.
