Crown House is a non-selective independent preparatory school. Pupils do not sit statutory Key Stage 2 SATs and the school does not enter Year 6 pupils for public examinations.
We assess pupils’ attainment and progress throughout the school using ongoing teacher assessment alongside externally standardised Quest Assessments in English and Mathematics.
In 2025-26, across Years 2-6:
Year 6 pupils may also sit the Buckinghamshire Secondary Transfer Test (11+). In 2025, 75% of the Year 6 cohort achieved the qualifying score of 121 or above.
Destinations
Crown House pupils progress to a range of secondary schools appropriate to their individual strengths, interests and circumstances. A high proportion of our pupils move on to local grammar schools, while others progress to independent and other secondary schools.
As a non-selective school, our focus is not solely on a single test outcome. We measure success through the progress pupils make from their individual starting points, the depth of their learning and how well prepared they are for the next stage of their education.
